As Ms Rai speaks most Asian languages, no body was embarrassed. She created a friendly atmosphere in the class. Another plus point is the flexibility , if you are unable to attend a particular session ,you can always change it.
We were made aware of the importance of weight loss and how it can be achieved ( exercise and healthier food ). She made us aware of label checking and contents of calories ,sugar contents, food we should avoid and food which is good for us. We were also encouraged to set goals.
Once again thank you very much for helping me losing weight.
I have a suggestion, don't forget us once the study is finished. We should be called back once or twice to see how we are doing, otherwise we can lose focus and fall into old habits.
I am also more aware of health issues, diet lifestyle and have joined a gym, with three to four visits a week. I am also walking more every day.
The health study has improved my lifestyle and I wish to thank everyone who help me during the study.
Now that I have received copy of my final blood test report after completion of participation in the study, I am in a position to communicate my feedback.
It was my privilege to be a part of iHealh-T2D program. Initially there were some difficulties in appointments. After first appointment on 18/07/2017, few appointments were cancelled by telephone. It took a bit of correspondence to obtain
next appointment on 17/11/2017 where after appointments were regular and well planned.
Abundant information about various foods was provided during the sessions and I was able to make healthier choices.
Examples of energy used during various activities and exercises were definitely useful. As a result I have lost 10% of my body weight during the participation period, which was the target set during visit 1. In addition, I achieved 10 cm reduction in my waste size.
Blood tests indicate HbA1c remained constant during the period while total Cholesterol level has reduced to 3.7 from 4.1.
CHWs and other staff involved in the program were polite and professional. I thank them all for their dedication.
Understand presently T2D study targets only South Asians. In my opinion it should be extended to other groups as well.
Separate intervention programs in future should target prevention of other common health issues such as prostrate problems, ovarian cancer and high blood pressure.

I just wanted to send this email to thank you so much for having me on the research programme to look at my health in the future. Had I not been on this research I truly believe that I would definitely not be where I am today. I had been struggling with my weight all my life and this project gave me the support and encouragement to take control of my future and my eating habits. In no way the programme told me to stop eating, but how to eat good nutritious food and opened up my world to look at labels and what they meant. It also taught me about portion sizes. Basic common sense coupled with exercises you might say but by attending this since October I am now more aware of what I am eating and learning to say no without offending anyone.
Coupled with all the above it was helpful to meet up and receive phone calls from the dedicated staff about how was I doing which I found to be supportive and on track. Each visit had a purpose and meaningful advice. I enjoyed the 1:1 as well as the group meetings. I was a little apprehensive on my initial app but found it be excellent as we could share ideas and difficulties in our lifestyles.
I am a little sad now that this is coming to an end but excited for the future results.
Please keep up the good work and I wish you every success in the future trials. I do believe this research would benefit massively in other parts of the UK.
My father Teja Singh Kang was under the ihealth programme.He found it v beneficial and the support throughout was great.
